Black Heart by WolfRoad Black Heart by WolfRoad
Just a werewolf by the name Black Heart.
I drew this picture just as if just thinking about something. Every detail here, a fleeting thought.
By the way, the constellation, which is in heaven is called the Wolf

first off just wow, the emotion behind this is very intense yet mysterious. those moon phases really light up the night sky and bring a depth to this piece. the werewolf is excellently done and you can get a feel of its emotions through its eyes. the spooky trees really lend to the mysteriousness of this piece and make it come alive. the eyes are very vibrant and full of life and the shimmer of the wolf's fur is just the right touch to balance this out.

on the down side the constellation is a little to pronounced and draws more attention then needed. also the eyes the background seem... useless, they are there in just a pile and you can't tell what their purpose is. nor can you tell what they are attached to, unfortunately. it looks like a pumpkin with a bunch of eyes but because of the lighting I'm not really certain.

other then those few things this is a wonderful, visionary piece full of emotion and wonder.

When I first saw this, I was drawn straight away to the background. The moon cycles are just stunningly drawn, overall that part is just amazing! That part is very realistic.

Now, the constellation you have done is great! You can definitely see why you put it the the picture being 'wolf'. But it can draw to much attention away from the other details.

The wolf's facial expressions are so intense, the eyes tell it all. I love the marking around the werewolf's eye, it makes the character more unique compared to the other art works of werewolves. The fur has real look to it, especially with the moon's luminescence shining down upon it.

I'm not too sure about the many eyes behind the wolf. It draws too much attention away from the character. I'm not sure of why they have been put there. It kind of reminds of some fictional planet/rock covered in eyeballs. Still the eyes look phenomenal.

Spectacular work!

Hi, I have a question.
I prefer to ask right away it was clear. Could I use your work as an avatar in a forum? In the caption I wrote that it was your job and give the address of this page.
Can I?

I really like the composition of this oic - the emotion of it which is intensified by the moon phases and the leaf-less trees... The tribal marking around the eye, as well as the pierced ears are nice details underlining that this is just not a run-of-the-mill wolf, but something more. He - I don't know the gender, but for me this just immediately was a "he" - also has a quiet dignity not often associated with werewolves, and his eyes are just so calm and gentle - quite a contrast to his name, which leads ones thoughts towards darker things. However, also a reminder that we are not defined by our names, but our actions...

Frankly, what freaks me out the most in this picture isn't the werewolf - it's those eyes in the rock beside him!

Congratulations on an exquisite motif - it's certainly caught both my attention and admiration!

i do not have a membership for cost reasons, but if i were a critique here is what i would have to say

the eyes in the backround give an array of emotion most people choose to ignore, while looking at them in certain ways you can see that they are not attached to the rock formation behind, but in other ways they are. And you can sence the fear in the eye at Black Heart's neck, the wisdom of the large one, the playfullness of the one diagonally above his eye, the silent rage of the one farthest from his snout, and the skepticism of the smallest one. his eyes show sadness, and pain of loved ones who were killed, and the kindness an alpha would need to have.
His fur shines majestically in the light of the moon phases, and his nose is perfectly textured. though the ears are slightly small, they have perfect shape and texture. you can almost smell the emotion comming off of his fur, and the markings on his eye are actually, if you did not know, a symbolic message of an honored and high ranking warrior. the alpha needs no mark, though most have one on their flank.
the autumn trees lend a sence of loss and grief, whilst giving the scene a look of the fleeting life he has experienced, and whilst the constelation is unnecessarlily pronouced, at some places in the deep woods, it is very bright.
Black Heart looks as though he has spotted you, and invited you to join him in looking to the stars for comfort. if ever a lycan warrior were to do that, it would be considered a high level of disrespect not to join.
The emotion in this scene makes me think of what it will be like when i become a warrior... how many lives will be lost, both my loved ones, and my enemies...
this piece is truly amazing. if i had enough money, I would buy it and hang it at my clan's Cavern.

All in all, this artwork was most definately outstandingly beautiful.
